The Basics!
Volleyball players use their arms and hands to hit a ball over a net in an attempt to
score points. To determine who starts with the ball, team captains flip a coin. Once
the game begins, each team is able to receive one point after a referee’s whistle
signals the end of a play. Games are scored by a rally-point system, which means
that a point can be earned at any time in the game, no matter who served the ball.
Whoever reaches 25 points first, by a margin of at least two points, wins the game.
The final game, however, is only played to 15 (margin also by 2 points). The team
who wins a majority of the games wins the match.
